Everything You Need to Know About YouTube
YouTube: The New Hype
When YouTube began in 2005 , it was a new idea that was started to share videos with friends. The main idea was to make a website that people can make use and share their favorite videos. Nowadays, the YouTube website attracts millions of visitors from across the world and offers everything from vlogging to viral videos that keep many subscribers hooked.
The History of YouTube
As what I’ve mentioned earlier, YouTube first went mainstream in 2005. Its founders Chad Hurley, Jawred Karim and Steve Chen were all former PayPal workers. The main idea was to create a website wherein the group could share the videos they’ve shot in their friend’s apartment in an faster manner. As things went by with the company, they became a little more user friendly and thanks to the 11.5 million dollar investment, the company has been able to develop into a strong driving force online. Something that might interest you is the first video on YouTube was by Jawred Karim called Me at the Zoo.Eventhough YouTube was eventually owned by Google in 2006, the 3 founders still hold places inside of the company.
Socities Reactions
There are a lot of countries where YouTube has not been allowed. One of the strongest reasons is that the social content that is permitted on YouTube doesn’t protect all groups of individuals. With parody videos, for example, users can make an inaccurate representation of an individual or ethnicity in “fun” that unaware audience might find interesting. Another issue is that there is unregulated access to insulting material as well as items that convey religious personas in an ill-fitted manner as well. While these videos can be flagged, the videos are not always removed. Instead, they are given a special warning message before playing the video. China, Pakistan and Libya are just some of the countries that have banned YouTube from going online.Another point that has been opposed by numerous people is that YouTube gives no privacy for its subscribers. Instead, IP addresses and viewing habits have been provided to major companies in a way to keep track of the subscribers’ viewing patterns.
The Future of YouTube
As the website accelerates forward, it is almost visible that the content will begin to change as well. We have observed that 3D video has rapidly begun to make itself very prominent on the website. As a matter of fact, some of the newer televisions that has 3D technology have access to YouTube to give their users plenty of content that they can enjoy viewing as well. While there is no factor on how long YouTube can stay the driving force for online video sharing, one thing is only certain that people agree on. For now, it does offer some of the best video viewing features for all those concerned. From general viral videos to funny cartoons, many people will continue to view all their favorites on YouTube and a lot will wait to see the future of this website.
